Some time back, during the rise of CCG's (collectible card games), miraculously, Dungeons and Dragons was affilliated to the work of the Devil. Total hogwash if you ask me. I think those who make that claim are all uncreative sods that can't see a group of friends having fun in their own fantasy world. They must've grown up in a sad childhood if you ask me.

Anyway, DnD is simply the one game which I find myself coming back to over and over again... as long as I still see my friends that is. I've started playing since I was 12 and now, 10 years later, I still find it to be one of the most enjoyable past time hobbies that I have ever endeavoured to.

For the uninitiated, DnD is a role playing game where you imagine that you're playing another person in another world. In DnD's case, it's the world of swords and sorcery. That's where dragons, elves and magic run rampart and you can go around waving your sword or magic staff or whatever. In my earlier days, I enjoy playing elven characters and then I progressed to half-elves, even humans too. Currently? I'm enjoying playing a race I have yet to try in my 10 years of gaming.... I'm playing a halfling :)

You know.... halflings.... Frodo Baggins.... hobbits... lil' people. And to make it more bizarre, I play a halfling barbarian/bard that has a tendency to sneak around. It's fun I tell you! In my current party I team up with a human sorceror, a mad half-orc cleric and a dumb elven ranger (the half-orc's smarter, don't ask me how...). I used to play a human rogue/fighter before that but the cleric killed me. Darn rotten luck if you tell me. I'm working on each character sketches and I'll post 'em here when they're done. Next week I'll even put in our adventures with a sadistic Dungeon Master that throws us in a hack-n-slash fest against more powerful creatures.

Maybe I'll be treated with a better story this weekend but who knows? Only time will tell.

Next update: My character's stats and history, and where I ended up currently in the campaign.
